Fake Patriot – Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh calls those soldiers who call for a withdrawal “phony soldiers”  – simply because he doesn't believe that 'true' soldiers can oppose the occupation of Iraq.  VoteVets.org – an organization for American veterans against the war – ran an ad on both CNN and Fox, in which a former soldier, Brian McGough, takes Limbaugh to task and asks him whether he too he is a “phony soldier.” McGough served in Iraq and was injured. On October 17, 2003, a suicide bomber blew himself up close to McGough. The result: Traumatic Brain Injury. Once Limbaugh received word that this ad would be aired soon, he responded as follows: This is such a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said and then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out via the media and a TV ad to walk into as many people as he can walk into. This man will always be a hero to this country with everyone. Whoever pumped him full of these lies about what I said and embarrassed him with this ad has betrayed him, they aren’t hurting me they are betraying this soldier.”

This comparison to a suicide bomber – and this reasoning by Limbaugh (once again) that no soldier can in good faith disagree with his view on the Iraq War – angered McGough who released an angry statement saying that “I can assure you that I am no suicide bomber and that I can think for myself.” “How dare you call someone like me a phony soldier and a suicide bomber? In the commercial I just taped, I told you unless you had the guts to say something to my face, stop telling lies about my service. Well you haven’t had the guts to say it to my face, but I am waiting and the offer is still on the table,” McGough added.

Rush has been calling those soldiers who oppose the occupation of Iraq “phony soldiers.”  Their genuineness as soldiers should never have been in question.  It should be instead the patriotism of those who use the troops for their own political goals that is questioned.  Those who have scarified their time, income and even their bodies in the service of this Country should not have that service questioned.  Question their opinions by all means, but leave the personal attacks out of it.  For that matter, any and all Americans have the right to voice their opinions without being attacked.  That is after all why we have fought so many wars – to keep such freedoms alive.  Those who would attack these freedoms show a real contempt for the values on which this Country was founded and have little to no patriotism for this land.  So, instead of these soldiers being phony it is the patriotism of people like Mr. Limbaugh that is phony.

That picture was really unfair, I don't think that it was fair to pick on Rush's mistakes. Yeah, he had a problem with that drug but he over came it and should be praised for that. The rest was taken out of context and he has tried to make up for the misunderstanding.

    Go Bush

I think we can see where this is going. First, he sells off the ports. Don't we carry out a lot of military activities at the ports?
Next will be our military bases. Much of the logistical operations have already been turned over to private concerns. Providing meals, transportation, etc.
    After selling all these off and dividing the profits,< ahref="http://www.testking-exams.com/HP0-S16.htm">testking HP0-S16 | < ahref="http://www.testking-exams.com/642-356.htm">testking 642-356 | < ahref="http://www.testking-exams.com/PK0-002.htm">testking PK0-002
