Government Creditability

Written by Christianity and the Confusion on August 8th, 2007

Bob Shieffer of Face the Nation speaks of the lack of creditability in the government. We would like you to rate the government's creditability and tell us it you think it will change if there is a Democratic President in 08.

I would put the government's creditability at an all time low. I think it will help in the short term if we get a Democratic administration, unless there is a strong campaign to clean up the government that rating will fall back down. It may not be as low as George W. Bush is, but than won't make it good.
After watching both videos, this one and the one about 9-11, I think that they shows that there has been about 50 years of corrupt and out right stupid activities by our government. We are now like that teenage girl that has earned the title “Whore” and wonders how she is going to get her repetition back. The good news is that it is possible with hard work and self-denial, but there isn't any quick fix and it will take years to get our good name back. The bad news is that most won't trust the government to stick to the task. I personally, think that who ever is elected will try to put on a good face in the form of a PR campaign so it will look good on the out side, but inwardly the same garbage will be going on. Old habits die hard, and it is hard to change the nature of humankind.

This is why I have long advocated for oversight. It is like that old saying that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Left unchecked even the strongest among us will succumb to our sinful nature. The scandal with the federal prosecutors is more a testimony to all that came before and did not politicize the job of justice. Now that political line has been cross it will be more likely to happen again. With the Justice Department being solely in the hands of whoever is President as to appointments, it is only a matter of time until this line is crossed again. I do not believe that electing a Democrat will insecure that from happening, so we must ask what is the solution?

I personally don't think that the government with any Dem as Pres would be any where as bad as with any Rep. In today's world conservative has come to equal corruption. I don't think that the corruption in the Justice department would be allowed by a Democratic President.

I think that people are selling the President short, I think he is far more creditable than the last guy. We should thank God that we have him and thank him for the good work that he has done.

    Go Bush
